Brasil wins World Cup

After an interesting, but hardly spectacular final, Brasil has emerged as the winner of the 2002 Fifa World Cup. Germany was beaten with 2-0.
Both goals were made by Brasil’s star player Ronaldo, who collapsed 4 years ago and made his big re-entrance during this tournament.
Approximatly 1.5 billion people have seen today’s match (including a player from Brasil, who tried to get a new shirt on… for 3 mins), making this the best viewed single TV program ever.

Utopia Planitia joins Bravofleet

Utopia Planitia, one of the PBeM games mentioned in the first ever Wafel.net feature has joined Bravofleet and will be the base of operations for Taskforce 44.
I’m not aware of any press-releases or other info published on this event, but they have altered there website.
Bravofleet is one of the biggest games out there, with about 200 dutystations they are a number of times bigger than the runner-up. Unfortunatly most dutystations consist only of a CO and FO (well known fact).
Utopia Planitia could very well be not only the newest but also one of the best Bravofleet stations around.

Recently a new dutystation has opened in Star Trek: Frontier Fleet, namely Pandora Station.
Pandora Station used to be a civilian Federation spacestation, but this changed during the Dominion War. Starfleet needed more starbases to defend the center of Federation territory against Dominion attacks, and Starfleet also needed more repair facilities for ships damaged in battle.
In 2374 Pandora Station was equipped with better defensive systems, new computer systems and the docking area was transformed into a repair facility.
When the Dominion war was over, Starfleet remained on Pandora, and the station is now used for research, and also refits of smaller vessels. Most of the time only small refits are done at Pandora, but at the moment the Prometheus class USS Epimetheus is refitted with a ranswarp
drive.
Also present on the station is a prototype AI. This fully sentient and self-aware program was designed at Jupiter Station to enhance the Federation’s ship, base and station computers with a more developed artificial intelligence, and is now being tested on Pandora Station.
